Yamane technique on SimulEYE ISIF model by Dr. Steven Safran, MD

Steven Safran, MD has been a proponent of using the SimulEYE Iris Suturing & IOL Fixation (ISIF) model for teaching the Yamane technique. In this video, he shows how to fixate the EC-3 PAL (CT Lucia 602) IOL using intrascleral haptic fixation. Learning the nuances of this technique is critical to achieving an optimal outcome. Incision placement, approach angles, haptic docking and so much more can be figured out prior to live surgery. The surgeon can better understand where tilt and decentration occur and make adjustments to their technique to minimize these complications in their patients.
